The founder

Ella
Buddle.

The woman with the inventor's brain.

MYND AT ONE is one of the things Ella has made. This page is about the person behind it, in her own words.

Ella Buddle, founder of MYND AT ONE
In her own words

A short version of a long story.

I have been working since I was ten and looking after people almost as long. Salons, spas, treatment rooms, and a lot of quiet conversations that happened on a couch rather than in a clinic.

MYND is what happens when you take twenty years of those conversations seriously, and give them a room of their own.

I could not sit still, could not sleep, could not switch off. That is not the obstacle in this story. It is the engine.

What came next

The quiet
I was looking for.

For a long time, I was trying to turn the volume down on a mind that never stopped. I tried a lot of things. Some of them helped for a while. None of them lasted.

Then I was assessed, and diagnosed with ADHD, at an age when most people have long since given up asking the question. That single conversation changed how I understood almost everything I had already lived through.

I was never chasing noise. I was looking for the quiet mind.

What followed

The inventor's brain.

A name for the thing I had spent twenty years treating as a fault.

Once somebody finally explained my own head to me, the same mind that would not switch off started producing things that people could actually use.

Most of what I do now, I do because I could not find it for myself when I needed it. So I make it, quietly, and then leave the door open for anyone else who might want to come in.

The charity

Only Skiin
Deep.

A small, quiet giving programme.

Only Skiin Deep is funded by the businesses behind MYND. It is not a waiting room for the clinic. It does not send anyone anywhere they do not want to go.

What it does is pay for the right person, wherever that person happens to be, and then get out of the way and support the individual in the best way it can.

What it covers
  • Mental health
  • Physical health
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Women's hormonal health
  • Motherhood and careers
  • Pressure on high achievers and people in business who quietly get overlooked
How the work fits together

All of the things
are connected.

MYND is the room. The salons, Coat It and Skin and Tonic, are part of how I have spent twenty years listening to people. And then there is an app, for the nights when the brain will not settle. Different doors, same instinct.

The app

MYND Buddy.

A calm companion for the brain that will not switch off. Built by someone who knows the wiring from the inside.

It opens in a new window.

And on Sundays

I am married to Kristopher. We have Albie and Freddie, four and eleven. He does football and everything outdoors. I do practicality and fun. Baking, drawing, cooking, laughing.

My favourite thing in the world is Sunday lunch with both of them chopping the vegetables they grew in the garden.

My biggest aspiration is to do what I do, and do it well.
